Amy Rosenfeld Poux (She/Her) is an award-winning director of contemporary theater as well as film , and educator based in the Hudson Valley, NY.
Poux also has a long-standing educational background, and has worked with colleges and communities to develop bold, vital performance pieces through a devised process rooted in long-form improvisation.
With a decades-long career in arts education, Poux has worked with young people and adults alike to use performance as a tool for community connection and creative expression. Her educational work has included: Director of Education at Film at Lincoln Center (NYC); Founder and Executive Director of Working Playground (NYC); Professor of Acting at SUNY Dutchess; Founder and Director of Youth Ensemble Theater; Executive Director of the Arts Society of Kingston; and Coordinator of Arts Education at Ulster BOCES among many other expansive projects.
Poux’s community-centered, responsive work has been recognized by The New York Times, the New York State Council on the Arts (Award of Excellence), and the Annenberg Foundation, among others.
